Battle of the Badges, Another Success!

Saturday Afternoon the Lloydminster RCMP and Lloydminster Fire department set aside their usual uniforms and geared up for a hockey game.

The annual Todd Gustavson Memorial Hockey Tournament Battle of the Badges at the Centennial Civic Centre brought together the community for a friendly rivalry. Those attending we’re asked to bring non-perishable food items or a monetary donation as an entry fee. The Olive Tree and The Lloydminster Salvation Army would receive the food items while the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lloydminster would receive the cash donations.

About 3000 pounds of food donations were donated for the local food banks while $2745 was raised for mentorship programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lloydminster.

The Lloydminster Fire Department thanked everyone from volunteers to those in attendance for showing up to cheer them on while helping out the non profits in our community.

In regards to the game, the Fire Department defeated the RCMP 5-4. This is their second win in a row.
