A Lloydminster Comprehensive Baron is being recognized by Canada Football Chat (CFC) in Canada’s top 75 high school football prospects and will play in Ottawa on May 31.
Grade 11, six foot two, 230 pounds, Julian Tepper will travel to Ottawa on May 28 for the game which will be recorded for playback on TSN. The showpiece will be viewed by scouts from Canadian and U.S. schools.
“The CFC prospects game is an opportunity. Your name gets put out there more and you get more exposed. Then other recruiters and universities watch these games to see the players, how they play and keep tabs on recruiting,” says Tepper.
Recruiters will keep track of the players that they like from the game and see if they will make them an offer in the next year. The players will be divided into two teams and get to show their talent on the day.
Tepper sees making the cut for the prospects game in the nation’s capital as a “big deal” and as a defensive end he wants to make a big statement.
“It’s a huge thing to be able to show-off your skills and what you can do on the field.”
Tepper has a focus on English, Maths and Sciences. He likes mechanics but admits he is keeping his university options open.
“I want to take medicine or a physical therapist. I want to take the right classes for that.”
The game will be at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa on Friday, May 31 at 11:15 a.m. EST.
Tepper thanks his defensive line coaches Cole Bloxam and Colton Schmidt for all their support.
