Into the Mystic placed at Messum Park

The newest piece of Lloydminster public art has been placed at Messum Park.

Into The Mystic was created by Mick Classen and the interpretive metal art piece is on display at the corner of 53 Avenue and 26 Street in Messum Park.

Classen also sculpted the 17 massive Faces of Lloydminster which have been painted by local artists and are installed at several locations across the city, like the embankment on College Drive at the entrance to Lakeland College.

The artist says he was channeling his inner Van Morrison into the metallic artwork using an accelerated rustic process on the 4,100-pound, 10-foot creation.

An official opening date is yet to be announced.
