Truck driver dies in collision on Hwy 17

The driver of a truck has died following a vehicular collision on Highway 17 north of Lloydminster.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at about 11:50 a.m., Maidstone RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 between 67 Street and Township Road 504, north of Lloydminster.

Investigators say the collision involved a truck and a semi. The driver of the truck was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as an adult male from Lloydminster, AB.

The driver of the semi was assessed by EMS at the scene.

Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Maidstone and Lloydminster RCMP, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Roving Traffic Unit, Saskatchewan Highway Patrol officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch, Wilton Police Service, Lloydminster Rescue, Britannia Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene.
