Cenovus Energy is teaming up with the City of Lloydminster to sponsor the Block Party Trailer with a $50,000 investment.
Recreation planners with the city say the funds will cover naming rights, along with purchasing and outfitting the unit.
Going forward the Cenovus Energy Block Party Trailer aims to build social connections as residents have expressed in the 2022 Social Needs Assessment that 24 per cent of respondents indicated they did not feel a sense of belonging to their neighbourhood.

The trailer comes equipped with:
- 10 picnic tables
- Two – six-foot tables
- Four barricades
- Two – 10×10 tents
- Two large coolers
- Speaker system
- Handwashing station
- Barbecue
There is access to funding to support food-related costs. Games and activities are available through the Neighbourhood Block Party Program.
Borrowing the trailer is free and residents are asked to return the equipment as clean as possible.
City staff will deliver the trailer before the event and pick it up afterwards.
