$20K Reward For Information on Macklin Area Fires

**UPDATE as of August 21st the reward has been increased to $21,500**

Thanks to an anonymous donor, the Macklin & District Fire Protection Board has a reward of $20,000 to offer for information leading to the discovery and apprehension of the individual or individuals involved in these arsons in the area. The donation of $5000 from the donor is added to the previous $15k in reward money.

More than 20 suspicious hay bale and ditch fires have been reported in the Macklin surrounding area in the last few weeks.

Leading to the Macklin and District Fire and Rescue team using their precious time and resources to put out these suspected arsons.

Over the weekend, 3 more suspicious fires were tended to on Saturday. One south of Macklin at 12:48pm, another at 9:02pm at the Highway 17 and 14 junction, and a third that night at 12:04am just west of Macklin off what they call, express ave.

The crew was dispatched to another suspicious fire Sunday night at 10:28 pm just west of Macklin once again.

They share that this continues to be a very troubling situation.
