One person has died after plane crash south of Lloydminster

UPDATE: One person has died and another has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following Sunday’s plane crash.

There has been a second plane crash south of Lloydminster.

Last night (Sunday, Sep. 8) Legacy Regional Protective Services from the RM of Wilton and crews from the County of Vermilion River (Blackfoot and Paradise Valley Fire crews) were called to the scene of a crash just south of the Border City near TWP 492 and Hwy 17.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada reports a Cessna U206F crashed about 13 kilometres southeast of Lloydminster at about 6:45 p.m.

STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched to the location in the RM of Wilton.

TSB investigators are expected on scene Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, on Aug. 21 another light aircraft went down just south of Lloydminster with one fatality.
