Dead heat in Saskatchewan elections shows Janet Brown poll

Ten days left in the Saskatchewan election race and numbers compiled by Janet Brown Opinion Research have the two main parties in a near-dead heat.

The poll suggests Sask NDP support has grown by 12 points to 40 per cent from October 2020 to October 2024. In the same time frame, support for the Sask Party has declined by 16 points to 45 per cent. The poll has a 3.5 per cent margin of error. Also, one in five voters is undecided.

Meanwhile, healthcare is top of mind for survey responders at 27 per cent, with nearly half of the responses (46%) indicating they are worried.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees, or CUPE sponsored the poll.

“We represent nearly 14,000 health care workers in the province, so we know first-hand how broken Saskatchewan’s health care system is. This new research shows that Saskatchewan people do too,” said Kent Peterson, president of CUPE Saskatchewan as they released the poll’s findings.

Sixty-one percent of responses rated the Sask. Party’s handling of healthcare as poor or very poor, with five per cent giving the Sask. Party a “very good job” on healthcare.

Janet Brown Opinion Research led the survey between Sep. 23 and Oct. 3, 2024.

Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
