RCMP seize large stockpile of illegal firearms

A man from McRae, Alberta is facing numerous charges after RCMP seized over 40 rifles from his residence.

On Thursday May 12, 2016 St. Paul RCMP reported to a call regarding an assault at a rural residence near the community of McRae.

Officers arrived to find a large cache of weapons and ammunition. A further search of the residence led to the seizure of over 40 rifles, shotguns, and handguns.

35-year-old, Buckley George Dyck, of McRea, is facing a slew of charges, including possession of a prohibited device, careless storage of firearms, as well as one charge of assault causing bodily harm.

Dyck is currently in custody and scheduled to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on May 26, 2016.
