Fire bans impacting Candle Lake, Heritage Lake, & Waskateena

Once again, the province has issued further fire advisories.

Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Parks, Culture, and Sport has temporarily outlawed all open fires at Candle Lake Provincial Park, Heritage Lake Recreation Site, and Waskateena Recreation Site, due to extreme fire hazards.

This ban comes in addition to the restrictions currently in place regarding fires in provincial parks, recreation sites, and provincial forests in the north.

Still, self-contained portable gas heating devices and fire pits, barbecues, pressurized stoves, and charcoal briquettes will be permitted for cooking and heating purposes at park discretion for the duration of the ban.

These restrictions will remain in effect until public notification by the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport.
