Two die in collision near Alcurve

Two people have lost their lives after a vehicular collision near the Alcurve intersection on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Maidstone RCMP say at about noon they got a report of a collision at the intersection of Highways 17 and 3 in the Alcurve area.

The investigation determined a car and a truck had collided.

The driver of the truck passed away while being taken to hospital by EMS. He has been identified as a 71-year-old Lloydminster man. His family has been notified. Another man who was a passenger in the truck was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A passenger of the car was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 27-year-old man from Lloydminster. His family has been notified. The adult male driver of the car was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
