Lloydminster curlers are without a curling rink as the city’s premier facility has an asbestos leak.
In a social media post, the Lloydminster Curling Club advises that the City of Lloydminster informed them about the asbestos situation at 5:20 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 20.
All activities in the curling centre have been cancelled and the building is closed for the foreseeable future.
With the Astec Safety Challenge coming up on Jan. 8-11, 2025, MyLloydminsterNow has reached out to the organizers, who are deferring to the City of Lloydminster to outline the next steps.
