New mural complete in downtown Lloydminster

A woman with her hair blowing in the wind is the artistic touch that Harwell Teves has added in his latest downtown Lloydminster mural.

The idea for the mural came from 50th Avenue Cuts in downtown Lloydminster who asked the artist to produce the mural based on a floral theme.

Co-owner, Jennifer Bautz said Teves came back with four options and the rest is the stunning art that has filled the back wall of the hair salon.

“We like the pop art theme and we wanted something bright and cheery,” said Bautz.

Teves said he decided “to make it flow to occupy the length of the wall. Also, the woman’s hair looks free, fresh, and calm. It’s nice – especially after coming from the hair salon.”

The work which was completed in minus 30 wind chills and the massive snowfall on Nov. 23 can be viewed on the back wall of 50th Avenue Cuts.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
