Two taken to hospital after parking lot accident

A woman was airlifted to hospital in Saskatoon following an accident on Saturday night in Lloydminster.

According to multiple sources and posts on social media, a truck driven by a single occupant drove out of the parking lot of the Tilted Kilt, and the parking lot of Amigos Lounge and Nightclub. The truck struck multiple parked vehicles on its passage through the lots.

The vehicle then continued, ending up in the parking lot of the Day’s Hotel and Suites, where the vehicle struck several more parked vehicles. The woman taken to hospital was reportedly standing between two parked vehicles when they were struck.

A post made by the father of the woman said she was taken to the Lloydminster Hospital, and stabilized, and taken to hospital in Saskatoon via air ambulance, with positive updates reported.

A full statement from the Lloydminster RCMP is not yet available, but they did confirm an accident took place. More updates on this story will be posted as official information becomes available.

UPDATE: A second person was also treated for injuries as a result of this accident. The man was taken to hospital due to injuries suffered in the same circumstance as the woman who was taken to Saskatoon, as they were both caught between parked vehicles struck by the truck.

However, he was not injured to the same degree, and was released from hospital on Sunday morning.

An official statement from the police is still not available.
