City details extent of flooding

The City of Lloydminster has issued a notice about the current flooding within the Border City.

According to the notice, the recent rainfall has tested the capacity of the storm water system within the city, which has caused the flooding. The notice also asks drivers to exercise caution, and to avoid driving through flooded areas.

The rain is expected to end in the afternoon, and the notice also says water levels are expected to recede.

Flooded road ways have been reported in the following areas:

-Hill Industrial

– Nielsen Industrial

– 62 Avenue

– 49 Street

– 51 Street

– 52 Street

Alan Cayford, the Director of Public Works, will be speaking about the flooding at 2:30 today.
