Running for Shelter, Sep. 6 to wrap up Recovery Week

The registration period is open for you to sign up for this year’s Running for Shelter in support of the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter. This year the event will serve to wrap up activities for Recovery Week, which starts on Aug. 31.

“The event is to raise money to get a new building to expand services to help support our unhoused community members. The new building is targeted to provide more wrap around supports and services to those who are unhoused and struggle to find proper housing solutions in our community,” says Kagan Kneen, executive director.

You can register to walk or run the 5km event around Bud Miller Park.

“The cost is $50 to receive entry and a race t-shirt and medal upon completion. Alternatively, you could register to fundraise as an individual or a team and each person who fundraises at least $100 will receive an automatic race entry and receive the running for shelter t-shirt as well as a medal upon completion of the run/walk,” adds Kneen.

Running for Shelter takes place on September 6 from 11:00 a.m.
