While the images on social media look very convincing, Environment Canada is not confirming that there was any tornado on Wednesday, June 25 in the area from Lashburn to Paynton.
Residents received several alerts on their devices to take precautions due to the unsettled weather being tracked on the Environment Canada radar system.
Meteorologists tracked the storms on the radar, and the possibility of a tornado was there, but storm tracking teams on the ground did not spot anything.
Also, there is no pictorial evidence at this time that confirms a tornado was on the ground. Environment Canada remains open to the possibility that there may have been a tornado, but at this time there is no confirmation.
