Alberta RCMP Traffic Services warns drivers about dangers of wildlife on roads

Alberta RCMP Traffic Services are warning drivers to drive carefully this fall, and watch out for wildlife on Alberta highways. Last October, more than 1100 accidents involving animals were reported to Alberta’s RCMP, and they’re expecting a similar rise this year. Traffic Services encourages drivers who do strike an animal to move the carcass off the road so other drivers don’t hit it as well. They also recommend motorists drive 20 kilometers below the speed limit at night to give themselves more reaction time.
