Charges pending after three women held against their will

Battlefords RCMP have released their Daily Report of calls received from August 16 6:00 a.m. – August 17 6:00 a.m. Members responded to 66 calls for service over 24 hour period.

In the report, one of the calls was regarding 3 females reporting being held against their will by a male suspect. One of the females alleged she was assaulted with a weapon and received a head injury. Police attended the scene, arrested the male suspect, and executed a search warrant on the property to locate evidence in support of the complaint.

Charges are pending against a 27-year-old male resident of North Battleford.

Several of the calls were for suspected stolen items being pawned, breaching of probation, assaults reported, and one reported case of child abuse.

Police also responded to 5 false/nuisance 911 calls, 5 minor disturbance reports, 2 alarms, 1 Mental Health Act complaint, 11 traffic investigations, 4 minor property damage complaints and 1 subject who was arrested for alcohol related offences.
