Driver sent to hospital after accident in Battlefords area

An accident has closed down the Highway 16 bypass in the Battleford area.
According to a press release, the Battlefords RCMP are currently attending to a motor vehicle collision on the Highway 16 bypass, west of the junction of Highway 16 and Battleford Road.  The Highway 16 bypass heading west will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
Police have indicated that all east and west bound traffic will be re-routed around this location until the police investigation is complete.
This collision involved an east bound transport truck and a west bound passenger car.  One person has been taken to Battlefords Union Hospital with undetermined injuries.
The North Battleford Fire Department, along with Community Safety Officers, are working on coordinating the re-route of traffic.
The police are asking for the public’s patience as this investigation in completed and normal traffic flow is resumed.
