Lakeland deems Feast on the Farm a success

Lakeland College is pleased with the results of an event held in August.

According to a release issued from the school on Monday morning, the Feast on the Farm event held back on August 20, 2016 was a “resounding success” with 150 people attending the Barr Farm in Vermilion. The event raised more than $20,000, which will be going towards student leadership opportunities.

Georgina Altman, the Vice President  of Advancement for the college, said that the funds would exist to allow students to explore their own ideas within their respective programs, if they approached the school with a proposal.

The event was held as part of Alberta’s Open Farm Days, with guests taken on a tour of the student-managed farm, with an auction taking place later in the evening and music supplied by the Laurence Boys.
