Clown spotted in Border City

Lloydminster residents may have gotten a bit of a scare on Friday evening.

According to posts made to social media by city residents, a man wearing a clown mask was spotted near the Dairy Queen located along Highway 16 around 7:30 p.m.

According to Drew Nordquist, an eyewitness who photographed the clown, the mask looked like a “zombie-type clown” and the man was skipping down the side walk with a sign that said “Free Hugs” while carrying what appeared to be a fake pipe wrench.

“I wish i got video of him skipping,” said Nordquist.

“He wasn’t even threatening. Just a bloody zombie clown looking for hugs.”

Nordquist said he hoped the clown was seen again, and that the man was embracing the Halloween spirit.
