The fourth annual Indigenous Economic Partnership summit will be kicking off tomorrow at the Lloydminster Exhibition.
The event is meant to bring together businesses in both Alberta and Saskatchewan and indigenous people to examine best practices, models that work, as well successful partnerships that can be made, and is open to all areas of the regional economy. A private, VIP supper will be held this evening, with the public welcome to the general summit on October 13.
According to a release detailing the event, this year’s summit focus is on entrepreneurship, as well as human resource policies.
Speakers & panel members will include:
- Keynote Speaker: Clint Davis, Indigenous Business Advisor, Acasta Capital
- Keynote Speaker: Terry Bird, First Nations and Metis Initiatives, K+S Potash Canada
- Heather Abbey, Founder & CEO, shopindig.ca and Kiowa Sage Apparel
- Stephanie Harpe, Founder, Shapeshifter Talent
- Kelly Lendsay, President and CEO, Aboriginal Human Resources Council
- Milton Tootoosis, BA PAED
- Jeff Ross, CEO of Onion Lake Business Development Corporation
- Robb Campre, President and CEO, Ogakie Industries
- Jim Nowakowski, President and CEO, JNE Welding
The summit will begin the following day on October 13 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Exhibition.
