George Canyon to play President’s Gala

George Canyon is coming to Lloydminster.

Canyon will be playing the fifth annual Lakeland College President’s Gala, set for Mar. 24, 2017.

The gala is meant to shine a light on how students at Lakeland take the lead with their studies, and student leadership will be on display at the 2017 event.

“Student leadership is at the heart of what Lakeland provides,” said Alice Wainwright-Stewart, the president of the college.

“During this incredible event, we’ll celebrate student achievement and our fantastic community’s support. From providing practicum placements to serving on advisory committees, creating scholarships, and providing rental accommodations, our students and our college succeed because of our community. Together, we’re helping thousands of students achieve their goals.”

Canyon will be the headlining performer for the event, giving a “special acoustic performance” for gala guests at the Lloydminster campus. All proceeds from the gala will be going to support the student awards program at Lakeland. Those interested in getting tickets for the event can contact Event Services at 780-871-5413.
