Two men arrested with illegal firearm outside Knox Manor

The Lloydminster RCMP have two men in custody, after they were found outside Knox Manor this morning with prohibited weapons.

At the time of publication, police had not released many details of the arrest. Prior to today’s arrest, the senior’s residence had been robbed last Thursday.

The thief in the previous case had entered the residence in the evening, located near the intersection of 55 Avenue and 47 Street. Knox is meant for lower to middle income seniors, with security doors opening onto the street.

After the thief made their way inside, they found an unlocked apartment. After finding the key to a gun case in the apartment, they removed a rifle and a shotgun, as well as a set of truck keys.

The investigation into the previous theft is ongoing, and police would not comment on whether or not the two incidents are linked at this time. However, they did state that one of the two men had active warrants for his arrest, and both had an array of prohibited weapons in their possession when taken into custody. Those weapons included a sawed-off rifle. The duo also had disguised their faces.

Information on the identities of the men, as well as the charges they will be facing, is pending.
