Hillmond Central School Unveils New Gym

Hillmond Central School has received a big gift from the province – a new gym. The school held an unveiling ceremony on Friday, after 18 months of renovations. The new facility is more than double the size of the old gym, with collapsible bleachers, six basketball nets, and a new stage. It cost the province $6 million to build. Lloydminster MLA Colleen Young was at the unveiling. She says the province’s investment shows the importance they place on education. School Principal Colin Covey says that the gym will also be beneficial to the surrounding community, as many community organizations have already asked to use the stage.
