ASIRT Clears Police In Tofield Shooting

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team says that the officers involved in a shooting near Tofield did not break the law. On January 6th, officers investigating the theft of guns from rural properties visited the home of a known associate of their suspect. The suspect was at the home at the time, and tried to escape. The situation escelated and one police officer was hit by a car, and a second officer was shot. One of the officers fired back, injuring the suspect. Executive Director of ASIRT Susan Hughson, says the officers did not break the law in the shooting.
