Lloydminster RCMP say that they’re seeing early signs of success from their crime reduction strategies. In the last 10 days, the RCMP say they have seized approximately $7,000 worth of illegal drugs, 10 firearms, $20,000 worth of stolen property, and arrested five people involved in the drug trade. Constable Grant Kirzinger attributes the success to a shift in focus from traditional policing to property crime and repeat offenders. He also says that these arrests are significant for the city, and make it a safer place to live. Those arrested face 60 charges combined.
