February Is “Distracted Driving Month”

Lloydminster RCMP are on the lookout for distracted drivers. The detachment has declared February “Distracted Driving Month,” in co-operation with Saskatchewan Government Insurance. Throughout the month, the RCMP will focus on things such as cell phone use, reading, texting, and even putting on makeup while driving. Constable Grant Kirzinger says police will also be watching for careless driving. Distracted Driving carries a fine of $172, while Driving Carelessly carries a fine of $402 and six demerit points.
