Social Program Lowers Crime In Prince Albert

Community Mobilization Prince Albert is celebrating its success in reducing crime. The CMPA launched four years ago, with the mission of bringing the justice system, teachers, doctors, and local organizations together to address the root causes of crime, and connect at-risk residents with support groups. The program has been a success, with Satistics Canada reporting that the overall crime rate in Prince Albert has fallen by 21 per cent. The program, pioneered in Prince Albert, has recently been adopted in Lloydminster and other communities across Saskatchewan.
