Higher Attendance Numbers for Colonial Days

Another year, another Colonial Days in the books. The events kicked off on Wednesday with the parade and wrapped up Saturday with fireworks.

Mike Sydoruk, the General Manager of the Lloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association says, “the economy has been pretty tough in this area over the last couple of years, as we all are seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel, people turned out more for the fair this year, so our numbers are looking up over last years. We’re very proud of that.”

He adds, “they’re coming to see our concerts, our agriculture events and all our shows. It’s just been a tremendous support from our community and we want to thank Lloydminster and region for coming out and support Colonial Days for yet another year.”

One of the best parts for Sydoruk, seeing the people attending the fair.

“When the place is full of people, there’s kids laughing, smiling, eating cotton candy and enjoying all the different events and activities we have here, it’s very gratifying.”

More than $100,000 in prize money and awards was paid out to exhibitors and competitors during the 2017 Colonial Days.
