Lloydminster RCMP ask parents to educate children about phone use

Lloydminster RCMP are asking parents to teach kids about the emergency buttons on their cell phones. On December 27th, there were a total of 41 accidental calls placed to 911. Constable Grant Kirzinger says that non-emergency calls represent a serious safety concern, as they occupy operators who are there to deal with real emergencies. Phones that are inactive, or without SIM cards, can still call 911. The only way to make sure no calls get through is to remove the battery.
