Vegreville RCMP say that their seat belt check-stop has been a success. On Friday, the police partnered with a local community peace officer to raise awareness about proper use of seat belts and distracted driving. The RCMP say that during the three-hour period, they handed out 25 charges. During the check-stop, the police also inspected child car seats, and gave parents tips on how to enhance child safety. March is considered ‘Occupant Restraint Month’ under Alberta’s Traffic Safety Plan Calendar.
