Performing Arts Awards Aim To Honour Lloydminster Resident

Friends of late Lloydminster resident Bob Mottram want to create a performing arts award in his memory. Mottram was a community leader, musician, family man, athlete, heavy oil expert, and a big supporter of the arts program at Lakeland College. He passed away in April. Now his former band members are raising funds for the Friends of Bob Mottram Performing Arts Awards to cover tuition costs of deserving arts students.
People interested in contributing to the Friends of Bob Mottram Performing Arts Awards fund may phone Howell at (780) 870-1671 or Ulmer at (780) 871-2174.
It’s hoped that the first awards will be presented this fall. Award criteria will be finalized when the fund is established.
Lakeland College has a performing arts program that serves approximately 200 students each year. Lessons are available for theatre arts, guitar, drums, percussion, saxophone, flute, piano, brass, voice, violin and cello. The majority of lessons are offered at the Lloydminster campus, with beginner drums and guitar lessons also available at the Vermilion campus.
