Gold Horse Casino to open December 21

The Gold Horse Casino has confirmed it’ll be opening its doors on December 21 at 9 a.m. They’re planning a grand opening sometime in 2019 and will provide more details in the coming weeks.

Gold Horse Casino will be the seventh casino run by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA). The project has been worked on since ground broke last June and will share SIGA’s profit distribution model.

That means 50 per cent of profit will be given to Saskatchewan First Nation Communities, 25 per cent will benefit local initiatives and 25 per cent will be shared with the provincial governments General Revenue Fund.

General manager Roger Anderson says his priorities for the casino is to be involved in the community as much as possible whether that’s through sponsorships or volunteering. SIGA accepts applications for community sponsorships, scholarships and supports staff volunteerism initiatives.
