Current regional fire bans & restrictions

Many communities have issued a fire ban due to dry conditions and high winds.

Some rural and urban municipalities are prohibiting open fires including campfires and will not issue any new burning permits. The use of portable propane fire pits and gas or propane stoves and barbeques designed for cooking or heating is permitted. Residents are recommended get any issued burning permits checked.

North Battleford has approved the use of fire pits for people with a permit. They recommend residents are cautious by supervising the fire and having the necessary supplies to control and extinguish the flames. Each area will differ in restrictions such as the R.M. of Mervin, which will allow enclosed wood pellet firepits and not propane fuelled pits as long as the flame height isn’t above 2 inches.
