Seven-year old Sarah Jackson is to be reunited with her mother Thursday evening after RCMP successfully located the girl and took her father Michael Gordon Jackson into custody, according to Saskatchewan RCMP.
Around noon Thursday, Vernon RCMP in British Columbia found Michael Gordon Jackson and Sarah Jackson in a vehicle parked outside of a local business.
A Canada-wide warrant had been issued in January for the arrest of Jackson as police say Sarah’s mother Mariecar has custody of the child.
Police are thanking the public for their help as they got tips from several provinces. They add that a video which they released February 15th got over 440,000 views and was shared over 13,000 times.
Police say that Sarah’s mother has asked for privacy as she reunites with her daughter, whom she last saw in November.
They add that the investigation is ongoing into matters like people who may have helped the accused to evade police, however no one else is being charged at this time.
