As approximately 100 wildfires continue to burn across Alberta, many out of control, Lloydminster fire crews are pitching in to support the provincial battle.
Four members and a chief officer along with a pump truck and command vehicle have been sent to support the provincial firefighting efforts, state city officials.
“The Lloydminster Fire Services continues to maintain an appropriate level of resources to protect the Lloydminster community,” says Leigh Sawicki, Fire Chief, Lloydminster Fire Services.
Meanwhile, a city-wide fire ban remains in effect in Lloydminster that includes all backyard fires, wood-burning smokers and charcoal appliances.
The city encourages residents and visitors to take all precautions to prevent fires and stay safe.
