Wilson claimed gold in Heavy Vehicle Technology among Alberta post-secondary schools and turned that skill into a national title after the May 31 grand finale.

Wilson is a third-year heavy equipment technician at the college.

The national contest held at ExpoCité in Quebec on May 30-31 featured a few Lloydminster Comprehensive students who also had punched their ticket following provincials in Edmonton.

Some 6,000 students were involved in the final stage of the competition.
