Meet the candidates for the LCSD Board of Trsutees

The candidates for the Lloydminster Catholic School Division Board of Trustees will also have their names on the ballot in the upcoming Lloydminster city-wide elections on Nov. 13.

The names and information about the candidates are on the LCSD website. Voters will have a tough task choosing among the eight candidates vying for seven seats.

  • Kate Carnell cites Catholic education as a large part of who she is and wants to continue supporting Catholic education in the community.
  • Cal Fendelet says that as a trustee for LCSD, he will continue to be passionate about education that serves the community and families.
  • Laurie Makichuk has 28 years as a board trustee. Her experiences including developing governance policy have given her a deeper understanding of maintaining a strong, faith-centered educational environment.
  • Calida Obrigewitsch (Halbach) grew up attending Catholic school in Lloydminster. She strives to be a valuable team member with fresh perspectives.
  • Michelle Rusteika has 12 years of service as vice chair. She brings faith and fiscal responsibility to ensure that resources are used effectively and transparently.
  • Paula Scott as a parent, educator, and long-standing trustee, looks forward to continue serving LCSD to ensure students have the best opportunities in a faith-centered community.
  • Carleen Weinkauf was born and raised in Lloydminster. She cherishes her Catholic upbringing and has spent many summers volunteering at the Sandy Beach camps.
  • Andrea Zerr brings nursing career skills to evidence-based discussions and genuine consideration of diverse perspectives in her decision-making.
