From a field of 14, six people have gotten the voters’ approval for a seat on Lloydminster City Council.
While Mayor Gerald Aalbers was acclaimed, the rest of the candidates had to face the voters.
The unofficial results on the city’s website were tallied at about 9:36 p.m. following the Wednesday, Nov. 13 municipal vote.
- Michele Charles Gustafson – 1,814
- Michael Diachuk – 1,854
- David Lopez – 2,550
- Jim Taylor – 1,765
- Justin Vance – 1,282
- Jason Whiting – 1,927
Voters also had to choose seven school board trustees each for both Lloydminster school divisions.
For the Lloydminster Public School Division from a choice of nine candidates, voters selected:
- Cathy Cornet – 745
- Chrissy Gee – 785
- Diane Gow – 1,073
- Karoline Kennedy – 666
- Melanie Mutter – 947
- Cheryl Ross – 572
- Georgina Veltikold – 657
For the Lloydminster Catholic School Division voters had eight options from which to choose seven:
- Kate Carnell – 423
- Cal Fendelet – 405
- Laurie Makichuk – 420
- Michelle Rusteika – 512
- Paula Scott – 501
- Carleen Weinkauf – 409
- Andrea Zerr – 505
These unofficial results which may be viewed online will be confirmed by the returning officer on Nov. 14.
The new council will be sworn in on Monday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. at City Hall.
