Scam and Fraud Prevention lunch and learn, Mar. 24

With fraudsters finding more ways to steal your money, you are being invited to learn to defend yourself. Individuals, non-profits, and businesses have become victims.

Lloydminster and area can sign up for a free Lunch & Learn on March 24 at the Legacy Centre.

Julie Matthews, a former investigative journalist who is now a certified fraud examiner and consumer protection expert will share on Scam and Fraud Prevention.

Matthews has served as peace officer and senior investigator for Alberta’s Consumer Investigations Unit.

Topic areas include:

  • Spotting scams and red flags before becoming a victim
  • Knowing steps to take if you become victimized
  • Find out fraud tactics used by scammers
  • Hear real-life stories and personal accounts

Doors open at 11 a.m., with a presentation at 11:30 a.m., as participants enjoy a complimentary lunch.
