Two long-serving captains with the Lloydminster Fire Department are wrapping up the lines after a combined 86 years of service.
Working in various capacities over the years, Captain Kevin Lider (1981) and Captain Cal Nickless (1983) will retire at end of June.
The fire department hosted a recognition barbecue for the duo on Thursday, June 12 on the last day that they were on shift at the same time.
The celebration included representatives from Lloydminster Fire Fighter’s Association and on-duty crew.

“We wish them all the best in the next chapter- the coffee is always on at the fire station,” says the Lloydminster Fire Department on its social media.
A formal event in early fall is being planned to honour their service to the City of Lloydminster.
