Local Street Team urges community to step up and help feed the unhoused

The Lloydminster & Vermilion for Equity Street Team is calling on restaurants and residents to join their mission of providing warm meals and hope to those in need. With resources running low, the group says community support is critical to keep their Thursday and Sunday meal program going through the holiday season.

“We are running on low fumes. We need the help and assistance of our wonderful community. If you can please help this December, keep LVE Street Team in your thoughts,” says Jennifer, who volunteers with the group.

The ask

Organizers are looking for eight restaurants to volunteer for one day each in December, preparing food for roughly 80 people. Meals would be prepaid by the restaurant, picked up, and served by the Street Team. Thursday meals are needed by 6:30 p.m., and Sunday meals by 12:30 p.m.

When

Available dates include December 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, and 28. Those willing to help can contact Jennifer at 780-984-5105.

Beef jerky fundraiser

The Street Team is also running a fundraiser from November 27 to December 12, selling boxes of beef jerky for $35. Proceeds will go toward feeding and clothing the unhoused in Lloydminster.

His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
