Get ready for the Lightning Thief musical at Vic Juba, Jan 15-17

The main stage at the Vic Juba Community Theatre will rock as the young thespians at Lloydminster Comprehensive High School put on the Lightning Thief – the Percy Jackson Musical, Jan. 15-17, 2026.

With about one month to go tickets are already on sale and the actors are deep into rehearsals at their school.

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is a high-energy adventure that blends Greek mythology with modern humor, following Percy and his friends on a quest to save the world.

Grade 11 soprano, Devin Chahley, is getting ready for her portrayal of the lead female role Annabeth Chase, who is the daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom.

“Basically she is friends with Percy and Grover. But she is Percy’s love interest,” says the young singer.

Devin has done about seven musicals in her young career including several with Lloydminster’s Centre Stage Studios. This is her second outing with the Lloyd Comp cast as she was in last season’s highly acclaimed Hadestown.

“I would say rehearsals are going pretty good. I’m really excited to be in it.”

Devin is polishing off her vocals and acting, and like the other cast members is working on blocking which will come together with the ongoing rehearsals. She has watched a lot of the Percy Jackson series.

“In the musical, you get to discover the different personalities of the characters more. You get to see it and its more fun and live. I like the musical better than the series too.”

Having been in the cast of Hadestown last season, Devin is full of confidence that the cast can top the previous production.

“I think we got this.”

  • Fri. Jan. 16 – 7:00 p.m.

His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
