Cocaine, prohibited weapon seized in Lloydminster drug investigation

Police have seized cocaine, unstamped tobacco, ammunition and a prohibited weapon following a search at a Lloydminster home.

Saskatchewan RCMP say the seizure stems from a drug‑trafficking investigation launched in January by the Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT).

As a result of that investigation, officers obtained and executed a search warrant on Tuesday, April 14 at a residence on 22 Street Close in Lloydminster, Alberta.

During the search, police seized approximately 42 grams of cocaine, unstamped tobacco products, ammunition, a prohibited weapon, a quantity of cash, and drug‑trafficking paraphernalia.

A woman was arrested at the home but was later released from custody without charges. RCMP say the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact police by calling 310‑RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑222‑TIPS (8477) or online.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team and North Battleford Crime Reduction Team, along with Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT), assisted with the investigation.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
