Wanted man charged after drugs, firearm seized at Lloydminster motel

A wanted man is facing multiple drug‑ and firearm‑related charges after cocaine, methamphetamine and a firearm were seized from a motel room in Lloydminster.

According to Saskatchewan RCMP, members of the Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team were conducting proactive patrols on Friday, April 17 when they spotted a man known to be wanted on a warrant outside a motel on 44th Street.

Police say officers attempted to arrest the man, but he fled on foot before being caught a short distance away. During the arrest, officers reported finding a small amount of cocaine and methamphetamine.

Following the arrest, investigators obtained a search warrant for a room at the motel. Inside, police seized approximately 28 grams of cocaine, 32 grams of methamphetamine, a firearm with a defaced serial number, and ammunition.

The 25‑year‑old man, who is from Onion Lake, is charged with multiple offences, including possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, resisting a peace officer, several counts of failing to comply with a release order, and numerous firearm‑related offences.

RCMP say the accused was also arrested on outstanding warrants and for breaching a conditional sentence order.

He was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, April 20.

Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
