City of Lloydminster launches 2027 budget survey, invites public input

The City of Lloydminster is asking residents to help shape the 2027 municipal budget through a new public engagement survey.

Running through August 19, the campaign gives residents the opportunity to share feedback on municipal programs, services, and future investments.

Mayor Gerald Aalbers says the input is critical, noting budgets directly impact services people rely on daily, including roads, parks, recreation facilities, and emergency services.

Residents are being asked to weigh in on several key areas, including transportation, protective services, parks and green spaces, leisure programs, and long-term funding priorities. Feedback collected during the campaign will be reviewed by administration and used to help guide the development of the draft 2027 budget before it heads to City Council for final decisions.

Residents can complete an online survey, submit questions through a project Q-and-A tool, attend in-person engagement events, or fill out paper surveys available at City facilities and the Lloydminster Public Library.

More details and participation options are available through the City’s budget engagement webpage.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
