Lloydminster Air Cadets to lead No Stone Left Alone ceremony honouring veterans

The 186 Air Cadets Lloydminster Squadron is inviting the community to attend this year’s No Stone Left Alone ceremony, a national initiative dedicated to honouring Canada’s veterans through remembrance and youth engagement.

The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Lloydminster Cemetery. Organizers say all community members are welcome to attend.

No Stone Left Alone is a Canada-wide movement that brings students and youth groups to local cemeteries to place poppies on the headstones of veterans, ensuring their service and sacrifice are remembered. The program aims to educate youth about military service while fostering a lasting legacy of remembrance.

Lloydminster has participated in the initiative for several years, with past ceremonies involving students, Air Cadets, Girl Guides and community leaders. Organizers say the annual event reflects the community’s ongoing commitment to recognizing veterans and their contributions.

This year, the Air Cadets and Squadron Sponsoring Committee are leading the ceremony and encouraging residents to take part in paying tribute to the men and women who served Canada.

For more information about the national No Stone Left Alone program, organizers direct residents to the organization’s website.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
