Lloydminster RCMP warns public about dangerous new drug

The RCMP are on the lookout for a new drug called Fentanyl. Fentanyl is a powerful painkiller sometimes passed off as Oxycodone. The drug is most often in green pills stamped with the number 80 to resemble professionally manufactured pills. Fentanyl is much more powerful than Oxycodone, can cause hallucinations and loss of eyesight over prolonged use, and is also easy to overdose on, because intoxication from the pill takes a longer time to take effect, so victims take more pills. When a victim overdoses on Fentanyl, it can cause respiratory failure. Lloydminster RCMP Constable Grant Kirzinger says that an addiction to the drug is much more painful to detox from that most other drugs.
